I've recently been reading the House of Night novels by P.C and Kristin Cast (a mother-daughter writing team) and inspiration for a Buffy crossover hit me whilst showering. A story set after the events of Hunted, Kalona has been forced to flee but still remains a threat. Zoey, the HoN heroine, routinely gets visits from the Vampyre goddess Nyx in her dreams. We know the Slayer has prophetic dreams on ocassion. Nyx rarely directly intervenes but does provide tools and gifts which Zoey can use to help her. What if her gift is to introduce Zoey and the Slayer, first in dreamscape and then bring the two together.
There's a wealth of possibility here, with the major differences between Buffyverse and House of Night vampires.
Another idea that has been floating about in my head for a while is to crossover Buffy with the Resident Evil game series. With a story set sometime after the events of RE 2 & , and with The Initiative procuring an example of the T-virus to investigate it. But being the T-virus, it adapts and quickly overruns the base and then Sunnydale. Jill Valentine is sent in to clean up the mess before it gets out of hand, where she meets up with the Slayer and her friends.
That was the original idea anyway, but as the author on Beyond the Buffyverse (linked through the BtVS ring this site is a member of) is already doing an Initiative/Zombie story, I'm a little hesitant to do it at the moment.
Another idea floating about in the murky depths of my mind is to attempt a Buffy/Anita Blake crossover, but I'm not too sure how to go about it. I'm actually tempted not to involve Buffy at all but do it as an Oz/Werewolf piece. But I find Oz incredibly difficult to write, which is why it's been left just floating about.
A Buffyverse/League of Extraordinary Gentlemen crossover - I've been unsure whether to pull Buffy and co back through time and team them up with the League or have it as a modern day league seeking them out, as both have strong possibilities.
The League would be a mix of the comic book and movie, I think. I like Mina as a Vampire - it wold add an interesting dynamic with both the Slayer and Xander's own histories with Dracula.
